9/17/2017 0 Comments Being "Nice" and BoundariesGrowing up german... In California. It is actually an interesting juxtaposition of social expectations. Germans may not always be the "friendliest" but they are not flaky. In California, people can, not always, but be very flaky. They are nice and friendly, open and chatty. That is a lot of fun, but not reliable. I recently visited my cousin in Germany. I grew up as a first generation American in California. I was fortunate enough to get to travel to Germany and Europe almost every year. I lived in France in my freshman year of high school and then for the summer in Bonn, between Junior and Senior year of high school. I realized on this last trip, that I had missed a large part of myself, It was somehow left in Europe. It honestly felt like a soul retrieval. What is SOUL RETRIEVAL? I see it as reconnecting disconnected or lost parts of ourselves. We, literally can, in Meditation, thought, travel, or any kind of ritual, retrieve a lost aspect/part of ourselves. We may have lost in in a relationship, or another life time, or given it away, or never even knew that part of you existed. There are some great meditation techniques to get those pieces back. In my case, my soul had been left in another country. I needed my German edge, where you just are who you are. If you like someone, they know it, if not, it's neutral. Growing up, people always thought I was unfriendly, so then I felt that I had to become "nice", so others wouldn't say mean things about me. I am soft as sweetened butter, if they only knew, I actually needed that edge. That edge was my boundary. Even if people said mean things about me, they at least didn't mess with me. In my voyage of being "nice", I was being fake, and dishonest. As I've aged, and cultivated true compassion, I can return to a place of edginess. That boundary only serves myself and those around me. In Neuro-sculpting (R) language, I really just refreshed some older neuropathways and stories, gave them energy and life, sent some electricity their way. For more information on that please contact me. I teach private Meditation including Neurosculpting (R) to learn more, contact me 303 880 9339.
