It can be lots of things, but my understanding and experience is that it is one of our beliefs. How we see the world is that, HOW we see the world. All of our life experiences, or thoughts, or maybe something someone told us, becomes real, we believe it or it becomes real to our nervous system.
The tricky part is we get used to that story or belief, we might have lived with it for awhile and changing it can be scary. Honestly, it can be unpleasant. There are certain phrases that run through our minds periodically or every day, that can be example of your story. I had a HUGE realization of one of my stories that has been manifesting. Here is an interesting thing, our nervous systems communicate. It seems weird but it's not. Don't you ever get a "vibe" from someone? Do some people make you feel comfortable and some not? We don't feel safe around some people. That may have nothing to do with them, but they trigger a story or a sense of safety. Okay, deep breaths. It's really a lot to think about! I have a couple unpleasant stories that are actually linked, and are a little victim - y. Oh no. Well for one, I feel certain things have been "taken away from me". The truth is I have not given myself the space for them. I am create and creating space for others, I am an acupuncturist/ healer, and I hold a positive space for many to heal. But I realized, I have not held that space for myself! So, in yoga last week I got there right on time, one woman made a space for me( this really is a pet peeve when people don't make space for others), the other woman said "I will try not to hit you.". That same woman today made another comment about a space for me when I came in right at the starting time. This really peeved me and I went up front to where there was a space. I thought, "Ill find my own space! I probably scowled at her. " Energetically we literally do have energetic space around us, the more we own it, the more we can have, honestly the less flustered we feel, and the less people, can "take it away". Another funny little thing, I couldn't find my yoga mat today, that's why I was almost late. I had forgotten it, and the teacher was using it! I kept longingly staring at it during class and laughing at myself. That was my space! This my seem like nonsense, but the point is that our stories, perceptions affect how we perceive life and if we can shift them even a little bit, it can change how we get to experience life! With meditation, we can explore our inner reality, change it, learn about it, explore it, we can literally shift our nervous system. I offer private work and sessions, I am very real and down to earth. Warmly, Stefanie Rothert
