So...
Does anyone get tired of the phrase? You create your reality. What I want to say is this. We are adaptable. That phrase could sound boring. But we are. How can we create our reality. By shifting our perspective. It is true that what we believe, helps to change what we perceive. What we focus on. Now. I come from a long line of debbie downers, so this can take some extra work for me. Did you know that our nervous systems communicate with each other? Have you ever noticed that sometimes you repel things and people and other times, you feel like you literally are more ATTRACTive. This has to do with you nervous system, are you defensive? You might be without knowing. Did that make you feel defensive? Lol. And there is nothing wrong with that, sometimes we need our space, our energy, and nervous system communicate all these messages all the time. We can explore this, and that way at least we can choose when so it's not as unconscious. Also our beliefs can dictate what we are open to, what opportunities we can see in our lives, working on self worth and self healing can help us to seize those moments. Even simple meditations can help you shift these views, especially with consistent practice, sometimes the change is drastic, sometimes not. You may notice more clarity, knowing, confidence and more. I wish you all a healing holiday season.

Honestly, this concept always confused me. How can you change the past? Until I read an article in the New Yorker about the psychologist that testified in Harvey Weinsteins Case, talking about her research on memory, and how it is widely constructed in our brains.
I am also reading a book on marriage and preventing divorce, this particular psychologist, talks about how when negativity builds up in a relationship, it colors and the past and we start to even change events in our minds that WERE positive to NEGATIVE. AH HA! A lightbulb went off for me. (yes I can be a slow learner) It's our beliefs and what we FOCUS on that can change how we view our history, present and future. By healing your emotions AND beliefs, you can put a positive slant on your past and honestly feel a lot better about it. No, you can't change some literal things that happened, but you might find a deeper meaning and learning from the not so great experiences you have had in your life, or the ones you think are unhealable, changeable. Contact me if you want to a book a private session, where we can target emotions, beliefs and more. -Stefanie #meditatetoheal #healyourbeliefs #neurosculpting #seeyourlifepositively 12/31/2021 0 Comments December 31st, 2021 We can use meditation to find safety in the moment. Here in colorado, we just had the marshall fire and it took a huge toll on our community.
We were near the pre evac areas, and I piled a few things together that are irreplaceable. In light of covid as well, home as become our safety. What happens if external safety nets disappear in a matter of hours or even seconds? Meditating can help us shift our awareness, to something greater than ourselves or we can focus on little ways that we feel safe. A major function of meditation and Neurosculpting is to regulate our nervous system so we can make conscious decisions and not live in fear. We can still be afraid, but not be ruled by it. There are plenty of scary things happening in the world right now. AND many examples of people who are not able to regulate themselves, and then want to go do extreme things. A division in humanity is a threat to our safety as our nervous systems are all linked, and we affect each other. When you see someone as an "other" they literally become a threat to your safety on a basic level. Through meditation, we can find little glimpses or huge ways to feel safe, and therefore make kinder for conscious choices. warmly, Stefanie Rothert #learntoregulate #neurosculpting #calm #peace #healyourfear 12/30/2021 0 Comments Why meditate? This is a great question! I like to question myself on this! I know it helps me to feel less overwhelmed in general, and less easily startled, calmer, even with so many unknowns. I have always been a seeker of other states of mind, and had a feeling that there is more than meets the eye. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I was exposed to so many ideas, and really taught to think out of the box. This was before the dot com boom. My father is a scientist and I was constantly questioned. I became aware that I could sense things about people and that drew me to the Berkeley Psychic Institute. I now know that I am an empath and I pick up on all kinds of things. Meditation helps me to discern and sort out what is my energy and others. The main thing I use it for is to get clear. Otherwise I start to feel kind of bogged down. My favorite energy tool/ meditation is to run energy through my system. Within five minutes, I feel so much better! So for me, meditation helps me to feel less overwhelmed. This can lead to depression for me. It is amazing what a regular practice can do for you. I have helped many people develop their own meditation practices. Please contact me with any questions. Meditation can and is for everyone. I is a natural ability we all have and in fact we all meditate without realizing it. You don't have to be "special" to meditate, I am a mom, wife, business owner, cranky human. Much love, Warmly, Stefanie Rothert 8/13/2021 0 Comments Working our way through negativityI will be honest with you, my tendency can be towards the negative. I almost said natural tendency, but I that is the my story, my story is that inside I have a positive lightness. My family is german, and my main caregiver, my father tends to be very paranoid and negative. He grew up in Post world war 2 germany. There is some genetic patterning, and also just life. It is really amazing, what we believe, how we see the world, the lense we have really colors it. It can be very hard, or take a while to dismantle thought patterns that are heavily embedded in our brains and belief system. Have you noticed? Positive people are happier and things seem to go better for them? But, you can give it a chance. Question your thoughts. (gentle is ok here). Using Neurosculpting ®, you can safely question some of your most negative, destructive beliefs, or any beliefs for that matter. When we have a negative thought, we come to a crossroads. Which way are we going to go? And if you feel yourself tempted to go down the rabbit hole... What are ways you can stop yourself? It can be a challenge. When our limbic system is starting to kick into high gear, and we can lose perspective (or at least the one you want to have ).. What are ways you can nurture yourself? Maybe it's just zoning out on netflix, maybe exercise, go on a walk, do something that makes you feel good, listen to music. Actually engaging in those things, like music, dance, movement outdoors, or simply engaging some positive sensations, help to balance our brain. Decide, not to go there. And if can't feel positive or see the silver lining it's ok. Feel your feelings. Name them. what are they. Usually there are multiple feelings layering to the root of what's going. Reflect on what you really need, and think of ways to meet that need. Maybe it is simply taking a break, or it could be a deeper one. Getting your needs met, is a powerful way to calm negative thoughts and our nervous system. I offer private sessions, where we customize Meditations to whatever your issues are. Please reach out to book, or schedule online. No matter what. This has taken me 43 years of age to learn.
Defend, or maintain your peace, no matter what. I had an awakening about this this week. I tend to be peaceful with a lot of anxiety. But, if I set boundaries, and establish the things that help me feel less stressed, I can maintain a sense of peace, NO MATTER WHAT. I have realized that I can not give this up again ever. It may mean people aren't pleased, or I am not pleased. It means, for me letting people go. What/ who might you need to let go of to have your peace. Warning: this may mean, not being nice. Here are some clues. How do you feel after being with certain people? Looking at Social Media? Not having enough money in the bank? 1. Say no. Say no to yourself, say no to others. 2. What promises have you made to yourself that you have not kept? 3. How much do you value your own peace/ sanity? Here is a little exercise for you, Write down all the things that help you feel some peace. Is it meditation in the morning? Or what other hobbies, activities? Can you give yourself a break at work? Now, let a person pop into your mind, that you feel drained from or worse. This can be called a toxic person. And it is okay to honor that feeling. No matter what your brain says. You do not need to be around that person. Do you say yes when you want to say no? Years of doing this can eat away at our self trust. I invite you to imagine a situation in the future, that you do not want to participate in. Imagine saying no. You do not have to give a reason. Now, imagine something you would like to say yes to. What is something you want to do? Imagine doing it ,make a plan to do it. Imagine how, imagine the time. Imagine saying no to everything/ everyone that prevents you from doing so. Example, If you want to get up earlier, make a plan, less caffeine later in the day, go to bed earlier. I offer private Meditation & Neurosculpting ® Sessions, please contact me if you would like to schedule or do a consult. Warmly, Stefanie #meditate #meditationclasses #peace #staycentered #preventanxiety # boundaries #awakening #neurosculpting #meditationcoaching Difficult emotions are a part of life. How do we deal with them? Let's get geeky. We have the pre-frontal cortex, the limbic system. Simply said, our more evolved, newer part of our brain, this rules compassion, problem solving etc. The limbic system has to do with our stress response and safety. Now bring in the anterior cingulate gyrus! This part of our brain is between those two parts of our brain, it is key to how we regulate our more difficult emotions, like a bridge between the two parts of the brain. We know that the parts of the brain are not really separate! Just like our body, it functions TOGETHER. Think of this as a bridge, between the emotions that have to do with survival, envy, pride, dread, fear and the "higher" emotions, compassion, hope etc. When one aspect is out of balance, then the whole system is affected. When we have trouble self-regulating, we may have trouble with substances, overeating, Mindless coping mechanisms (if you will), and simply dealing. (this is courtesy of Dr. AMen, book: change your brain change your life.). We may then be more negative, and tend to be sad. How can we heal this part? How do we deal with difficult emotions? Dr. Amen breaks our mental/ brain health down to four aspects: 1. Biological 2. Psychological 3. Social 4. Spiritual Simplified: Our resilience, whether we react negatively, positively to change is important. The ACG has a lot to with whether we are positive or negative. Have you ever noticed those who tend to see the bright side of life? Things seem to go better for them, and they are happier. Dr. Amen states that when our limbic system is more active, we see things more negatively. It makes sense, when we are chronically stressed, it can feel very draining, and it can feel hard to stay positive. That is one great thing about meditation, we can calm our stress system, and within 5-15 minutes feel more positive. Among some of my favorites are the first step of neurosculpting ®, where we focus on our needs being met, and feeling safe, and an exercise of "running energy". For me simply imagining colors, vibrations and "clearing energy" helps me feel more positive. Mindful movement, yoga, walking, being outdoors, focusing on the positive and beauty are helpful too! What are things you can think of that help you shift your perspective? My biggest takeaway is that noticing our thoughts and emotions, when we feel too much of any emotion, it can be a sign that we aren't regulating, that something is off. What is a time you can think of where you felt Off? Too sad? Even overly happy? That sounds strange, but it is true. 1. Recognize your emotion. 2. Do you perceive it as positive or negative ? 3. How can you shift it if it is negative ? 4. Listening to music, looking at pleasant photos, dancing, good smells, all those things are examples of how we can shift? We can think of the space behind our forehead as a drivers seat, where we perceive the world, it can be colored by experiences, thoughts, beliefs, perceptions. That is one way that we do have a say in our reality. You might here the phrase, "we control our reality " . We do, in our perceptions and how we respond. To read more by Dr Amen, here is the link. And here is his website. I offer private, custom Meditation and Neurosculpting ® sessions. Please, contact me with questions, Stefanie Rothert 4/9/2021 0 Comments Resistance...So, have you ever heard the phrase? What resists persists? What the heck does that even mean. In a private meditation session today, we unravelled it. We can resist so many things, our emotions, addictions, getting healthier. We sabotage ourselves! There is usually a fear underneath it that may or may not be true. It is where the true energy lies, the oxymoron, the lies covering the truth. It takes some bravery. What is happening when we do that? Most likely, our limbic system is taking over to keep us safe. What is familiar, feels safe, the unknown can put up our defenses. Have you ever gone on a diet, and after a few days.. given up? The change.. means that life will change! Often, it's a belief we have.. Example. If you have more energy, then .. what would happen? What would you do with that energy? Also what narrative in your life would end.. "I can't do that because I am tired." What if you could give yourself permission to overcome, transform the resistance with no expectation ? These are all things we can work out together in a private meditation session, and let the magic unfold. Warmly, Stefanie 4/4/2021 0 Comments What is your next chapter?Today is Easter, it is the quintessential day for new beginnings. And also spring gives us that feeling of sort of revving up. Maybe we are ready for a new beginning whatever that may be.
The phrase re-write your has always confused me. How do change things in the past that can't be changed. For today, I am looking to the future. I have joined an online health community to work on my weight. But it is really an overhaul for optimizing our health on all levels, mental, physical, financial. I believe we need to include spiritual in that. But what really struck me today is what the author said in the journal, I am helping you write your next Chapter. whoah, mike drop. That struck me on every level. I am about to transition out of an office to a new one. It's a long story, but the circumstances felt like a punishment, a prison sentence. I made it into a lovely, healing space, and now I feel afraid to leave. This actually does happen with prisoners coming out of jail too! We get used to things, they feel safe after a while, even if they are not what is best for us. I will be coming up out of a dark basement that I made my home, found and created light in. I am done! I completed my sentence and I thrived! This may all be abstract to you. But what is your next chapter? You may not know what it is, we know the the past, we don't know the future. We have to start imagining, plant a seed, nurture it, which one will bloom? We can let go and forgive the past, at some point, it needs to be laid to rest, and we can look with fresh eyes to the future. Warmly, Stefanie |
